New 100 series skid plates are here
The new 100 series skid plates are formed out of 3/16" plate steel that is cut out by water jet out and bent to shape. There are three pieces to the skid plate system for easy install. They are designed to work with my new diff drop or with the stock cross member.
The skid plate for the 80 series truck is made of 3/8" plate steel. It features tranfer case protection and covers the tranmission pan. It also has a brace off the back of the plate that bolts to the frame. This skid plate uses the existing cross member along with two other bolt holes that are in the front of the cross member. It offers a less expensive way to bolt on strength and gain clearance.
The 80 series cross member and skid plate combination features a 3/8" plate cross member with a bolt on skid plate to allow access to the drain plugs on the transmission and transfer case. The skid plate design is similar to the skid plate shown above. The bolt holes are countersunk so there is nothing to get hung up on.
New 80 and 100 series control arm skid/braces. These are tubes that have been cut in half that can be welded on the control arms to help prevent bending. This is a low cost alternative to new heavy duty control arms. You can hardly tell that they are there unlike the angle iron alternative. See the pictures.
